A LITTLE ABOUT ME

There’s a Japanese concept I like called *ichigo ichie* (一期一会)—the idea that some encounters happen only once, in a way that can never be repeated exactly as they were. It can be a person you meet, a place you visit, or even a version of yourself that exists only in that moment.

I think that’s part of why I became drawn to photography.

I only have one photograph from my childhood, and it made me realize how much a single image can hold. Not just what was there, but something about the life around it—the people, the place, and who I was at the time.

I grew up surrounded by quiet things: the sea at sunset, mountains, open roads, and familiar places. As I got older, I also found myself drawn to the city—the movement, the noise, and the contrast between the two.

I think photography became a way for me to notice these things more closely.

MY APPROACH

I don’t have one way of photographing everything.

Sometimes I let things unfold naturally and look for what happens on its own—a genuine expression, a small interaction, a passing gesture. Other times, I build the photograph more intentionally, working with a concept, location, light, or composition.

I pay attention to what is already there and work from it, rather than trying to make every person, place, or story fit the same style.

MY MISSION

I want photography to be a way of celebrating life as it is being lived. The people you love. The places you are in. The things you’ve worked for, created, experienced, and become. I want my photographs to hold something beyond the image itself—to reflect the person, the story, and the feeling behind it.

And when the moment has passed, I hope you can look back at it and still find something there that feels like you.
